Elaine Bluelake descended from the founding family of Bluelake town. Following the town's destruction in the Patrian civil war, she discovered a traumatized, amnesiac boy whom she named Hank. Forging an unbreakable bond, they survived as orphans and later led other displaced children to Newfort. Her intellectual gifts drew the attention of Reverend Jameson Ferguson, who secured her enrollment at The Church academy on the condition Hank accompany her. There, Elaine excelled academically while maintaining close friendships with Hank and Cain Withers. During her studies, a pendant she possessed began emitting auditory phenomena—termed the "Voice of God"—which intensified near Somnium ore deposits.

After graduation, Elaine conducted Somnium research for The Church. Her obsession with understanding the mysterious voice deepened, especially upon learning Hank had enlisted. This fixation drove her into the depths of an abandoned mine housing a massive Somnium deposit, where the "Voice of God" fully manifested, imparting knowledge for creating enhanced soldiers called Incarnates. Persuaded, she secured resources from Northern Union President Richard Withers to establish École, a facility dedicated to developing Incarnate soldiers to end the war. Early experiments suffered catastrophic mortality rates until Hank, delivered to her mortally wounded in combat, provided a desperate opportunity. Faced with his imminent death, Elaine performed the experimental procedure, successfully transforming him into a werewolf Incarnate. This breakthrough enabled mass production of Incarnates using Hank's biological data as a template.

As the war raged, Elaine served as physician to the Incarnate unit, monitoring their physical and mental stability. She grew burdened by guilt over their inevitable loss of humanity, a side effect of prolonged power usage. Near the war's end, with peace negotiations underway, she realized the Incarnates would become uncontrollable beasts without a cure. Believing mercy killing was the only solution, she confided in Cain, intending to euthanize the unit herself. She met privately with Hank, revealing the impending peace and the Incarnates' doomed fate. Invoking their oath—"Those who lose their souls shall be slain by their own"—she shot Hank to prevent his interference. Cain intervened, killing Elaine and releasing the Incarnates before she could complete her mission or commit suicide.

Elaine's legacy endured. Her Incarnate creations scattered across Patria, many losing their humanity and necessitating Hank's intervention as a "Beast Hunter." She was later revealed as the biological mother of Miglieglia, a white-haired girl with abilities to control the dead. Elaine also developed specialized "Godkiller Bullets" capable of permanently eliminating Incarnates. Her actions fundamentally shaped the conflict between Hank, striving to fulfill her original oath, and Cain, who opposed her solution.
