TV-Series
Description
Larhart is a hybrid of human and demon, born during the demon Hadlar's war against humanity. Persecuted by humans for his mixed heritage, he lost his mother to illness and was left alone until Baran found and adopted him. He became a member of the Dragon Riders, serving as the Land Fighter within the Dragon Legion.
He harbors a deep hatred toward humans due to his past but possesses a strong sense of honor and loyalty, especially toward Baran, his sole confidant. He disdains cowardly tactics, as shown when he executed his comrade Borahorn for taking a hostage. A serious and efficient fighter, Larhart prefers swift resolutions in combat.
As the Land Rider, his power rivals that of Legion Commanders. He is a master spearman, employing exceptional speed and techniques such as the Sunder Claw, which unleashes a devastating shockwave. His signature weapon is the Dark Armour Spear, a magical extendable spear forged by Lon Beruk that resists spells and breath attacks. It can transform into a suit of silver armor known as the Magic Armour Spear or Demon Magic Armor Spear, enhancing his combat prowess.
Larhart first appears when Baran summons the Dragon Riders to claim Dai. He brings a dragon for Baran and later battles Hyunckel, overwhelming him with his armor and speed while revealing details of Baran's past. Hyunckel defeats him with the Grand Cross technique. Before succumbing to his injuries, Larhart kills the dishonorable Borahorn and gives his spear to Hyunckel.
Baran resurrects Larhart using his dragon blood, a process that takes longer than expected. Revived as the only one of the three Dragon Riders to return, Larhart is instructed by Baran to serve Dai, marking his redemption. He reappears at Vearn's Palace, saving Hyunckel and Hym from Maximum by destroying the king and his pawns with Sunder Claw. He then joins Hyunckel and Hym, traveling to the White Garden to assist against Mystvearn. Pledging allegiance to Dai in accordance with Baran's will, he aids the party in fighting the Dark Army. After Vearn's defeat, Larhart travels the land alongside Hyunckel.
The infusion of Baran's dragon blood during resurrection may have amplified Larhart's strength, though the extent is unclear, and it solidified his transition from antagonist to reformed ally dedicated to protecting Dai and supporting his companions.
Larhart appears in other media, including *Dragon Quest Monsters: Super Light* as a synthesizable monster with skills like Sunder Claw and Flash Multithrust, and in *Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest - The Adventure of Dai* as a boss character who battles with rapid, successive attacks.
