Description
Gomechan is a unique golden metal slime distinguished by wings, large eyes, and teeth uncommon among typical slimes. Originating as the divine wish-granting artifact known as the Tear of Gods, created to fulfill the desires of pure-hearted individuals, its physical form manifested when a young Dai discovered a drop of golden liquid on Dermline Island and wished for a friend. Named "Gomechan" by Dai—a contraction of "Golden Metal Slime" with the affectionate "-chan"—this form became permanent due to their bond. Through this connection, Gomechan developed a distinct personality, initially timid but deeply loyal.
Early events solidified their relationship; fake heroes captured Gomechan for profit, and Dai's rescue established his heroic identity. Gomechan later joined Dai's journey against the Dark Army following the Dark Lord Hadlar's resurrection and mentor Avan's sacrifice. Throughout this adventure, Gomechan provided crucial support, healing Dai with restorative tears after battles and using miraculous abilities to aid allies. A significant revelation occurred when Gomechan entered the afterlife to persuade Popp to return to life, demonstrating a capacity to transcend mortal boundaries.
Gomechan's abilities include flight, rapid high-speed charges capable of denting orichalcum, and producing tears with potent healing properties. This character exhibits unique resistances, including immunity to the Dark King Vearn's corrupting influence without purification spells. Primarily communicating through sounds like "pii," Gomechan is fully understood by Dai and close companions. Over time, Gomechan demonstrated increased courage, notably during the Field of Death arc by unleashing a powerful aura to save Chiu from Fenbren, though this act resulted in temporary unconsciousness. Gomechan later joined Chiu's Beast King Commandos unit during the final conflict against the Dark Army.
Gomechan's central bond with Dai extends to other characters, including comforting Popp in despair, assisting Maam during imprisonment, and protecting Princess Leona from abduction. The divine origin as the Tear of Gods underscores a narrative role in enabling miracles for pure-hearted individuals, fulfilling its purpose through unwavering friendship and pivotal interventions.
