She received Chespin from Professor Sycamore, nicknaming it Chespie. Witnessing Alain battle a Mega Absol sparked her obsession with Mega Evolution, compelling her to persistently shadow him despite his initial resistance. Alain’s tactical guidance later helped her capture a Flabébé using Chespie’s Toxic; she named it Bébé and healed it at a Pokémon Center.
Accompanying Alain to Hoenn, Mairin encountered Steven Stone and Lysandre, observing conflicts involving Mega Rayquaza and primal reversions of Groudon and Kyogre.
