Description
Louie, also called Louis in Japanese, is a Dragon-type specialist who crossed paths with Alain amid ancient ruins while both sought a Mega Stone. Confronting Alain over the prize, Louie declared himself a self-styled “master of Dragon-types” and fielded his ace partner, a Mega Evolution-capable Garchomp nicknamed Garchoo.

Their clash turned against him when he underestimated Alain’s Charizard, dismissing its pre-Mega Evolution typing. Alain countered by revealing Charizard’s newfound Dragon type upon Mega Evolving, exploiting Louie’s tactical blind spot to claim victory—and the Mega Stone.

Undeterred, Louie later competed in the Lumiose Conference, battling to the semi-finals. There, he faced Alain again, deploying his full team: Garchoo, a Rhyperior dubbed Rhypo, and others. Yet Alain triumphed using only two Pokémon, halting Louie’s advance.

Louie’s fervent intensity and unshakable confidence in his Dragon-type mastery define his approach, prioritizing overwhelming force over adaptability. Though formidable, his tendency to underestimate rivals’ strategies and evolving tactics repeatedly undermines his ambitions, casting him as a trainer whose prowess is tempered by rigid self-assurance.
