Description
Hazel is a witch living in the Witches' Village and working at the Witches' Crest Library alongside her older sister, Praline. She has a pale complexion, long light orange wavy hair usually worn in two thick braids reaching nearly to her ankles, bangs, and large amber eyes. Her attire includes fine glasses and a distinctive dark purple pointed hat decorated with light pink flowers and red-and-white stripes. She wears an elegant tricolored purple dress with puffy sleeves, a soft purple bodice featuring green ornaments, and a light pink belt, often accessorized with a blue necklace secured by a green gem.

Her personality is even-tempered, attentive, and well-mannered. She demonstrates responsibility and caution in her librarian duties, particularly in maintaining the library's book collection. This contrasts with Praline's more careless nature, leading Hazel to occasionally supervise her sister. She remains helpful toward library visitors seeking knowledge.

Hazel plays a supportive role when Golem and Somali visit to research humans. She recalls the relevant biography *The Chronicles of Haraiso* and guides them, explaining the witches' dedication to preserving world knowledge. Discovering the chronicles missing, she deduces a mischievous bookworm may have taken it and leads the group to an underground room where they find Praline. After Somali locates the chronicles, they are attacked by Pescafish, skeletal book-eating fish. Hazel and Praline defend the library using magic wands; Hazel casts spells manifesting large red roses whose petals disintegrate targets from a distance. Despite their efforts, a large Pescafish destroys the chronicles and injures Golem. Witnessing Somali's devastation, Hazel and Praline consult Hazel's special book—a tool tracking library information like book locations and borrowing records—to identify the last reader as head librarian Isolde Nebsolv. The sisters lend their assistance to guide Golem and Somali toward finding Isolde.

Hazel's abilities focus on library management and combat magic. Her special book provides access to detailed library records, including the last borrower of specific texts. In combat, she wields a wand capable of summoning destructive rose-based spells effective at long range, which she can materialize or dismiss at will.
