TV-Series
Description
King Vega rules the expansive Vegan Empire, an alien regime destabilized by radiation from the exploited Vegatron resource. To save his empire, he invades peaceful, resource-rich worlds, starting with the advanced planet Fleed. His forces deploy flying saucers and giant robotic or biomechanical monsters, devastating Fleed with radioactivity and nearly annihilating its royal family.
He possesses a humanoid form with orange skin, pointed ears, and red-slitted eyes. His attire includes a red-and-white padded suit, a red cape, and a unique purple helmet featuring a demonic faceplate and three horns.
His personality blends cruelty and strategic cunning. He governs through military might, orchestrating deceptions like a false engagement between his daughter Rubina and Fleed's Prince Duke to enable invasion. He dismisses evidence linking Vegatron to Vega's environmental collapse and ignores Intergalactic Alliance sanctions to pursue conquests. While largely indifferent to his populace, abandoning them during crises, he holds genuine protective affection for Rubina, intending her as his successor despite their ideological conflicts.
His military utilizes two primary weapons: robotic "Saucer Beasts" capable of interstellar travel, operating remotely or piloted, and biologically engineered "Vega Beasts." The latter are created by irradiating and cybernetically enhancing space creatures, exhibiting heightened ferocity when injured and possessing strength sufficient to dismantle advanced mecha like Grendizer. Tactically, he escalates conflicts ruthlessly, such as destroying Vegan lunar bases to eliminate retreat and compel total commitment during the Earth invasion.
A significant conflict arises when Rubina, learning of Fleed's recovery and Duke's survival, attempts to defect to Earth. She is killed intercepting an ambush meant for Duke by Vega's general, intensifying his vendetta against Duke and Grendizer. His reign ends when Duke destroys the Vegan mothership during the empire's full-scale Earth assault, resulting in his death.
