Description
Homura, also known as Homura (焔) meaning "flame," is a supporting character in Toukiden 2. An orphan who once roamed the land as a thief, Homura's life changed during the Awakening, the cataclysm unleashing hordes of Oni. Scavenging a weapon from a fallen Slayer, he forged a self-taught, improvised fighting style to battle the demons. Relying solely on instinct and adaptability without formal training, he eventually faced capture by the Slayer Benizuki. This led to his reluctant agreement to join the organization at Mahoroba Village.
Homura wields a chain whip with exceptional proficiency, a skill entirely self-developed and noted as natural. He employs a Deceit-type Mitama, utilizing skills like Illusion and Stupor to evade or incapacitate foes—tactics fitting his former life as a thief. He directly references this approach, stating he would use such skills to escape threats like the Quadbracchium Oni.
Shaped by a harsh upbringing, Homura exhibits pragmatism and detachment. He initially maintains emotional distance from fellow Slayers, emphasizing his outsider status with comments like, "I didn’t start out as a Slayer." However, gradual integration reveals underlying loyalty and a willingness to protect allies. This development includes sharing his past with the protagonist, signaling growing trust. He participates in critical missions to cleanse miasma-corrupted areas and resolve tensions between Mahoroba Village’s insiders and outsiders.
Physically 24 years old and standing 177 cm tall, Homura's role extends beyond combat. He assists in village defense strategies and collaborates in deploying automatons for resource scavenging. His journey reflects a transition from solitary survival toward accepting a place within a community, though he retains a distinct, nonconformist perspective.
