Description
Jin, whose real name is Kris Rutherford, is a male O-Tech cyborg comprised of 60% mechanical components. These extensive modifications resulted from experiments conducted by the scientist Müller, who murdered Kris's parents and abducted both him and his younger sister, Kleene Rutherford. Müller subjected them to involuntary cybernetic enhancements, forcing Kleene to witness the procedures to break her emotionally. This trauma forged Jin's unwavering dedication to protecting Kleene, the core motivation driving his actions.

Initially operating under the alias "Jinn," he served as a mercenary for the group Rogue Out, carrying out missions such as kidnapping B-Cubers on Blue Garden. He believed Rogue Out's leader, Sister, could heal Kleene's psychological wounds, justifying his morally questionable choices. During a mission to abduct B-Cuber Labilia Christy, Shiki Granbell intervened. Their confrontation displayed Jin's combat prowess, including detachable rocket-propelled limbs and Wind Ether Gear that manipulates wind for offense, defense, and flight. Jin retreated per orders, ending the fight inconclusively. He later confronted Shiki again aboard Rogue Out's transport ship after Shiki freed captured B-Cubers. This second skirmish was interrupted by the fake Sister and Ganoff. Jin discovered the Sister he served was an imposter when the real Sister Ivry appeared. After the Chronophage threatened Guilst, he killed the imposter for deceiving him about healing Kleene.

Following Guilst's destruction, Jin and Kleene joined Drakken Joe's organization. Jin served as an assistant to Kleene, now known as Sylph of the Element 4. His combat abilities advanced significantly, achieving Overdrive—a heightened Ether Gear state—which allowed him to overpower Shiki during their reunion on the Belial Gore. Drakken Joe interrupted this fight, petrifying Shiki and chastising Jin for not using "true" Overdrive. Jin later guarded Drakken's life-support system but learned it siphoned life force from inhabitants, including Kleene. Horrified by this betrayal and informed by Amira of Drakken's true nature, he switched allegiances, helping Shiki's crew destroy the machine.

After Drakken Joe's defeat, Jin and Kleene joined the Edens Zero starship's crew as the Winds of Edens. Sister Ivry fulfilled her promise to heal Kleene's emotional wounds, and Weisz Steiner defeated Müller, resolving Jin's primary motivations. This allowed Jin to gradually become less isolated, smiling at Shiki's declaration of friendship and expressing commitment to protecting both Kleene and the ship. He retained his serious demeanor but adopted a calmer approach. By the year X495, his appearance evolved to feature shoulder-length hair and a traditional sleeveless ninja outfit under a long cloak.

Jin's mastery of Wind Ether Gear enables techniques like razor-sharp wind slashes, aerial mobility, and environmental control, such as levitating vehicles. His cybernetic body grants enhanced strength, durability, and unique capabilities like limb detachment for ranged attacks. His journey—from Guilst mercenary to Belial Gore enforcer to Edens Zero crew member—reflects a shift from isolated antagonism to protective loyalty within a found family, while his core dedication to Kleene remains constant.
