Description
Shin Ichijō is a male student at Edel Rose Academy, affiliated with Kakyoin Academy, who dreams of becoming a Prism Star. Born on February 29, 2000, in Kanagawa, he stands 168 cm tall; his birth date vanished from the 2001 calendar as it wasn't a leap year. He possesses dark blue hair, red eyes, and wears a pendant gifted by Louis Kisaragi.
Inspired by Hiro Hayami, Shin enrolled at Edel Rose. His personality radiates genuine cheerfulness and optimism, described as naturally shining. He shows obedience and attentiveness towards those he respects, readily expressing his feelings. Soccer was his pursuit before Prism Shows.
His journey ignited on Tanabata Day (July 7th) when meeting Louis Kisaragi granted him a ticket to Over The Rainbow's Prism Show and the pendant. Witnessing the performance captivated him with Prism Shows, leading to Hijiri Himuro scouting him for Edel Rose. Recognizing his potential early on, Over The Rainbow entrusted him to unite Edel Rose's fractured members. While practicing alone, Kouji Mihama challenged him to a Prism Battle. Impressed by Shin's ability to evoke the sensation of a first Prism Show—dubbed "Prism Rush"—Kouji gifted him the song "Over The Sunshine!" Shin later performed this song during Edel Rose's crisis following Over The Rainbow's hiatus, restoring audience smiles with support from Hiro and Kazuki.
Unknown to Shin, a destructive Prism Messenger named Shine, sealed within him a millennium ago by Rinne (Louis) after destroying Prism Sparkle, is the source of his Prism Jump abilities; without Shine, Shin cannot perform them. Louis chose to leave Shine sealed to protect Shin's passion. Shin bears a dark crescent moon mark on his neck signifying Shine's presence. During possession by Shine, Shin experiences amnesia and his left eye turns gold.
Shin's demonstrated Prism Jumps include "Over The Sunshine," "Shining Splash," "Shin Infinite Hug," and "Rising Sunshine." His signature song is "Over The Sunshine!", though he also performs "Dramatic LOVE," "Sweet Sweet Sweet," and "Happy Happy Birthday!" He dislikes celery unless prepared by Minato Takahashi and enjoys deep-fried shrimp. His relationship with Louis is complex; Louis claims to have "crossed a thousand years" to meet him, but Shin remains unaware of Louis's deeper feelings.
Shin progresses as part of Edel Rose Freshmen, eventually debuting in the unit Septentrion. His journey continues through Prism King Cup tournaments, where his connection to Shine and Louis's mission fuels ongoing conflict.
