Description
Yū Suzuno is a 12-year-old male character during "King of Prism," turning 13 in "King of Prism: Shiny Seven Stars." Born March 14, he stands 154 cm tall, making him the series' shortest and youngest character; this fuels significant height and inferiority complexes, causing him to bristle at perceived condescension regarding his stature or age. He possesses light purple eyes and dark purplish-blue hair styled to spike outward towards the bottom, reaching his neck.
He is the son of infamous rock star Gen Suzuno and Tsuru Suzuno, and the younger brother of Ito Suzuno from Happy Rain. This musical heritage shaped him into a prodigy capable of mastering any instrument and composing songs from an early age. While confident and ambitious, he avoids arrogance and doesn't undermine friends. His personality is tsundere, often feigning coolness yet yielding to his older sister.
Following an accident involving his father and Takeyuki Mihama, Yū's family separated during his childhood. After a brief time in Tokyo, he moved to Hokkaido with his mother while Ito stayed in Tokyo with their father. In Hokkaido, he discovered Prism Shows online, becoming a devoted fan of Bell Renjouji. After the conflict between the Suzuno and Mihama families resolved, he reunited with his family. He then formed the band "Crossroad" with Ito and her boyfriend, Kouji Mihama.
Concerned for Edel Rose Academy's future amidst financial struggles and rivalry with Schwarz Rose, Yū enrolled. Upon arrival, he questioned Shin Ichijo's decision to join the struggling academy. Later, he communicated Ito's concerns to Kouji about a job offer in America. At the Edel Rose Christmas Party, he composed "Dramatic LOVE," creating the initial composition and chorus lyrics himself while refusing help from Ito or Kouji, though other students assisted in completing the lyrics; the song became Edel Rose's signature piece.
He views Hiro Hayami as a rival, both as a Prism Star and as Bell Renjouji's partner. Learning Hiro couldn't perform "Pride" before a competition, Yū collaborated with Ito to create a new song for him, which Hiro ultimately declined. Yū performs Prism Lives using guitar, drums, and keyboard, favoring drums despite proficiency with all. His compositions include "Zeus ♂ ~ I Am The Ultimate Star ~," "Shiny Stellar," and "Brilliant Oath."
Yū adopts the self-proclaimed title "Zeus," declaring himself an "omnipotent being," mirroring his sister Ito's former alias "Cross." The kanji in his name, Yū (結), means "to tie," contrasting with his sister Ito (糸), meaning "thread"; their mother described them as "the thread that ties the family together." His surname Suzuno combines "cool, refreshing" (涼) and "field, wilderness" (野).
His birthday coincides with Japan's White Day, while Ito's aligns with Valentine's Day. He shares his birth date with Nino Nijiiro from "Idol Time PriPara." Yū is recognized as the first male Prism Star to perform a Prism Live. His theme color is purple, aligning with his brand classification as "Tsundere Style."
