TV-Series
Description
Hikage is a young girl and a Third Generation pyrokinetic who operates as a fire soldier in the Special Fire Force Company 7, stationed in the Asakusa district. She is the twin sister of Hinata, with whom she shares an exceptionally close bond. In appearance, Hikage has black hair tied in a bubble at the back and brushed to the left side of her face, a style that distinguishes her from her sister. She has large dark eyes and typically wears a black kimono with flame patterns on the sleeves and a blue stripe around the waist that signifies her affiliation with the Fire Force.
Hikage possesses a jolly and mischievous personality, often seen playing with her sister. Despite her cute appearance, she is not considered soft and can use surprisingly mean-spirited or rude language for her age, a trait she inherited from her captain, Benimaru Shinmon, even as he denies his attitude is as severe. Like many residents of Asakusa, she enjoys fighting, particularly against those she deems bad people. She has an overwhelming love for desserts and sweets, which can motivate her actions, such as trading her own clothes and silence for candy. Her relationship with her sister Hinata is a core part of her identity; the twins get along very well and can easily identify impostors attempting to trick them. Hikage also dislikes keeping secrets from Hinata for fear of making her angry.
In the story, Hikage first appears at the Company 7 station where she and her sister eagerly await sweets brought by Benimaru. During an incident involving impostors, Hikage is abducted by agents but willingly gives up her kimono in exchange for sweets. Unhappy with the amount, she eventually attacks her captors and reunites with her sister, after which the pair unleash their abilities to defeat the agents. Hikage also participates in training exercises, notably helping Tamaki Kotatsu with her combat skills by chasing her through Asakusa, during which the twins pressure Tamaki to unlock more of her potential. Throughout these events, Hikage demonstrates a strong sense of loyalty to her sister and her company, as well as a playful yet ruthless streak when confronting enemies.
Regarding her development, Hikage is shown to be a capable fighter from her introduction. She and her sister work together seamlessly in battle. A notable moment of development occurs during the training arc, where the twins are able to combine their flaming forms into a single, giant fiery entity to challenge Tamaki, showcasing their advanced coordination and power growth.
Hikage and her sister share identical Third Generation abilities. They can generate flames to cover their entire bodies, hiding everything except their shins and feet. In this ignited state, the flames around their heads take on the appearance of a kitsune, complete with fox-like ears and facial markings. While their individual strength is not explicitly specified, they are able to work together to easily overcome adult opponents. They can also perform a fusion technique by clapping their hands together while in their cloaked forms, combining into one massive flaming fox with increased power.
