Description
Murasaki operates as the logical and reserved half of a detective duo based in Yokohama's Cafe Nowhere. Light lavender-gray hair sweeps back from his face, constantly framed by red glasses with sharply angled arms. He favors a red-orange coat with a black hood layered over dark clothing, his stern, no-nonsense expression providing a distinct contrast to his partner.

Graduating second in Facultas Academy history with a score of 86, Murasaki trailed only his eventual partner. Facultas initially dispatched him to retrieve this top graduate, who had left the academy early. Murasaki approached the mission with skepticism and resentment, viewing his target's carefree demeanor as unworthy of his academic rank. However, observing his target's investigative methods fostered growing admiration, especially regarding his refusal to exploit his abilities under Facultas's direction.

Rationality and pragmatism define Murasaki's personality. He prioritizes calculating efficiency and cost-effectiveness when selecting cases, frequently clashing with his partner over choosing higher-paying jobs over morally driven but lower-paying ones. While typically calm and collected, a bitter undercurrent stems from his perpetual runner-up status to his partner, though he suppresses it to maintain their functional partnership. He demonstrates fierce protectiveness, repeatedly risking himself to shield his partner, and deeply values their mutual trust despite friction. His interactions with their assistant, Hajime, evolved from initial irritation toward acceptance and trust, acknowledging her capabilities despite occasional annoyance.

A pivotal betrayal occurred when Murasaki, obeying Facultas orders, delivered a Minimum Holder named Shizuku to the academy. Discovering Facultas's criminal ties and witnessing the resulting harm – including an attack on his future partner and their office – prompted his defection. He attempted to rescue Shizuku, leading to a confrontation where she seemingly perished—only to surface alive later. This event solidified his allegiance to the detective agency, where he handles responsibilities like household chores and cooking in their shared living space.

Murasaki's Minimum ability activates upon removing his glasses, granting extreme bodily hardening and superhuman strength, termed the "All or Nothing Minimum" or "Power Minimum." Prolonged use causes exhaustion and temporary ability loss, as demonstrated during extended combat against multiple foes. Later exposure to the "Nihilist Minimum" triggered physical deterioration, weakening him and causing chronic pain until external intervention restored his power.

His development shows a clear progression from a mission-driven Facultas agent to a committed detective, balancing his pragmatic outlook with fierce loyalty to his partner and colleagues. The core dynamic involves him quietly determined to outthink his partner while simultaneously ensuring his safety and respecting their bond.
