OVA
Description
Junko is a shy, quiet student with artistic talent, supporting herself by washing dishes at a restaurant while living alone. She lost her mother young and wears small bells around her neck as a memento, finding comfort and artistic motivation in their sound. Her talent draws the attention of Emi Mizuchi, a rival student with artistic ambitions but limited skill, who steals Junko's paintings to submit as her own in competitions.

After Saki Asamiya rescues her from an attempted rape, Junko forms a meaningful friendship with Saki, becoming one of the few who treats her kindly without knowing her reputation. Junko later invites Saki and Sanpei to her home, which is filled with art supplies, reflecting her dedication. Her teacher, Mr. Takada, supports her enrollment at Takanoha High School and encourages her artistic growth.

Emi's envy escalates into targeted victimization. When Junko publicly accuses Emi of fraud after seeing her stolen artwork win a competition, the Mizuchi family retaliates. In the manga continuity, Ayumi Mizuchi's associates murder Junko using a venomous snake bite staged as suicide. In the OVA adaptation, Emi orchestrates Junko's kidnapping, leading to her being drugged, tortured, and left to die on train tracks. Both versions depict her death as a catalyst for Saki's intensified pursuit of the Mizuchi family.

Her narrative includes the loss of her remaining family, public humiliation, physical and psychological torture, and eventual murder. These events underscore the Mizuchi family's cruelty and deepen Saki's personal stakes in the conflict. No significant details about Junko appear in sequel series, films, or spin-offs.
