Ryō is a young boy aboard the Lightning L808 luxury passenger plane when terrorists from Blue May hijack the flight. He eludes capture, hiding within the aircraft's cargo compartment alongside Leina Haruka. During their concealment, special agent Laika Strange contacts Ryō, providing him with the specific mantra "My thumb, Pot-pourri, Vanilla Cream" to combat his airsickness. Ryō diligently recites this phrase throughout the ordeal.

Positioned in the cargo bay, he collaborates with Leina to operate the controls and successfully jettisons the BIBLE Block weapon system pod after she initiates the sequence. This critical intervention neutralizes the primary antagonist and resolves the hijacking crisis. Following the incident, Ryō reunites with his mother among the rescued passengers.
