Description
Tao, a Modified Human once aligned with the Union’s DA-5 unit, defects upon uncovering the group’s sinister objective to funnel members’ powers into Kranz. A tech prodigy specializing in hacking and programming, he wields his skills during high-stakes missions and security overhauls. His distinct appearance—black bowl-cut hair with a stark white streak on the right, black-painted fingernails, and casually styled attire—sets him apart. A gradual shift in eye color from turquoise to grey hints at his discontinued use of the performance-enhancing drug "D."
Initially portrayed as an aloof operative, Tao evolves dramatically after abandoning the Union. Bonding with Ye Ran High student Woo Ik-Han over shared technological passion eases his isolation, fostering a warmer, more playful persona. Though prone to mischief, such as tutoring comrade Takeo in irreverent Korean phrases, his carefree demeanor occasionally backfires—like upgrading school security without consulting Frankenstein or swiping others’ meals.
Post-defection, Tao joins Frankenstein’s household alongside Takeo and M-21, integrating into Ye Ran High’s security team as a founding RK-5 member ("No.1"). He spearheads modernization of the school’s defenses, deploying his expertise to track threats, gather intel, and orchestrate missions. During a clash with Kranz, he narrowly survives absorption attempts using electrified cords, later recovering with Frankenstein’s modified "D" pills that boost his abilities while curbing side effects.
Critical missions—searching for Frankenstein, exposing falsified data on Takeo’s sister, battling nobles like Rael—test his loyalty and adaptability. Secretly joining Raizel’s group to Lukedonia ends in a crash that strands him apart from allies. While his pre-Union past remains shrouded beyond age (24) and tech mastery, his growing camaraderie with M-21 and Takeo underscores a redemption arc from solitary agent to trusted collaborator. Tao’s strategic ingenuity and technical innovations remain indispensable in thwarting Union schemes, cementing his role as both a pivotal support and a symbol of reintegration.
