Description
Ichiro Sato endured severe bullying in middle school after adopting an elaborate heroic fantasy persona, "Maryuin Koga," forcing him to transfer schools. Determined to achieve normalcy, he entered high school actively suppressing this past identity and striving for social conformity.

His commitment to an ordinary life is challenged by Ryouko Sato, a girl immersed in her own fantasy world where she is a researcher from another universe seeking "Dragon Terminals." Ichiro initially rejects her, seeing painful echoes of his past, but witnessing her face similar bullying compels him to reluctantly accept his teacher's assignment to support her.

Through their interactions, Ichiro confronts his unresolved shame over his "chuunibyou" phase. His initial distance evolves into a protective stance, complicated when an antagonist threatens to expose his embarrassing history unless he abandons Ryouko. This triggers intense self-loathing and hesitation.

A pivotal moment occurs when Ichiro fully embraces his "Maryuin Koga" persona to intervene as Ryouko retreats entirely into her fantasy world. By integrating this past identity, he successfully connects with her, committing to face reality together. This acceptance allows him to reconcile with his past actions and delusions.

Family dynamics reveal strained relations with parents who reacted negatively to his earlier behavior, contrasted with his supportive sister who later criticizes their parents' lack of understanding. Following his reconciliation, Ichiro establishes a genuine romantic relationship with Ryouko and supports her gradual steps toward engaging with the real world.
