Description
Arthur, born Arthur Remo, was abducted at age six in 2517 by Dr. Catherine Halsey for conscription into the SPARTAN-II supersoldier program. Transported to the human colony world of Reach, he underwent intensive training under Chief Petty Officer Mendez and the AI Déjà alongside other Spartan candidates.
His father, Andy Remo, spent years searching for him and rejected the flash clone replacement provided by the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) as part of the program's cover-up. Andy theorized the clone was not his biological son and eventually collaborated with Staffan Sentzke—a fellow parent whose daughter, Naomi-010, had also become a Spartan—sharing his findings before his death. This alliance helped propel Sentzke into prominence as a colonial Insurrectionist and arms dealer.
In 2544, Arthur-079 joined a perilous mission to rescue Dr. Halsey from Covenant captivity. He deployed with Spartans John-117 (Master Chief), Kelly-087, Fred-104, and Solomon-069 aboard a cloaked UNSC vessel. Using Booster Frames, the team infiltrated a Covenant fleet. During the operation, Solomon-069 detected a decoy signal for their target, resulting in his death when the ship was destroyed. Arthur then covered Kelly-087 after her Booster Frame took damage. While protecting her, he was crushed between two converging Covenant CCS-class battlecruisers and sustained fatal injuries.
Arthur's sacrifice ensured Kelly's survival and aided the mission's success, allowing John-117 to recover Dr. Halsey. Declared Missing in Action (MIA) under ONI Directive 930—a standard protocol to conceal Spartan fatalities—Arthur-079's death was later confirmed by Staffan Sentzke during his own investigations, nearly a decade after the fact.
