TV-Series
Description
Damian Carme is a fairy scholar who plays a significant role in the events surrounding the Black Fairy Tome. He works alongside Veronica Thorn, employing her skills to help him recover pages from this dangerous and ancient book. His involvement in this quest is deeply personal, as he is revealed to be the descendant of Crucia Albastora, the original author of the Black Fairy Tome. To protect this secret and avoid the consequences of his heritage, Damian has changed his surname, living under the assumed name Carme.

In terms of appearance, Damian has long brown hair and a short, full beard. He typically dresses in simple, functional clothing such as brown pants, a white shirt, and a long brown coat, reflecting his scholarly, unassuming nature.

Damian's personality is that of a focused and secretive individual. His primary motivation is to collect the scattered pages of the Black Fairy Tome, which was written by his ancestor. This goal drives many of his actions, often placing him in morally ambiguous situations. He is willing to use unconventional methods, such as hiring Veronica to steal items, to achieve his aims. While he appears calm and scholarly, he is also calculating; on one occasion, he and Veronica engineered a situation to lure out others interested in the tome, suggesting a willingness to use deception to further his goals.

Throughout the story, Damian's role evolves from a mysterious background figure to a more central player. Initially, he collaborates with Cain Distarol and is seen collecting pages of the tome for his own purposes. His actions put him in contact with main characters like Free Underbar and Marlya Noel. At first, he is evasive with them, refusing to reveal his sources or his connection to Veronica. However, after being arrested and forced to reveal his true identity, Damian shifts his position. He becomes a crucial source of information for Dorothea, explaining the history of the fairy tomes and revealing that other descendants of the original scholars are active. He uses his unique knowledge to deduce the plans of the antagonist, Marco Bellwood, correctly predicting that Marco intends to resurrect the Divine Beast. To stop this apocalyptic threat, Damian willingly cooperates with Dorothea and the government, meeting with Prime Minister Golbarn Helwise to explain the danger and urge action.

Key relationships define Damian's path. His partnership with Veronica Thorn is central, as she acts as his primary agent in the field. He shows genuine concern for her safety, calling out her name when she is in danger, which inadvertently reveals their connection to others. He also has a working relationship with Cain Distarol, another scholar, with whom he shares knowledge about the tomes. His most significant transformation is in his relationship with Dorothea. He moves from being a suspect they apprehend to an essential ally whose expertise is vital for preventing a catastrophe. After the crisis with the Divine Beast is resolved, Damian concludes his journey by taking a legitimate position at the Ministry of Fairies, using his scholarly knowledge for the public good.

Damian Carme does not possess any extraordinary powers or fairy-related combat abilities. He is described as an ordinary person in that regard. His value comes entirely from his intellect, his deep historical knowledge of fairies and the Black Fairy Tome, and his ability to analyze situations and predict the actions of others.
