Akagi, internationally known as Cyrus, commands Team Galactic, a criminal syndicate operating across Sinnoh. He seeks to forge a new universe stripped of human spirit and emotion, viewing these traits as fundamental flaws that breed imperfection and strife in the current world. Cyrus perceives emotions as crippling weaknesses plaguing both humanity and Pokémon, driving his quest for a flawless existence. Intense parental pressure during his youth fueled his disillusionment with human nature. This upbringing cemented his conviction that emotions spawn conflict and suffering, hardening his resolve to reshape existence itself. To achieve this, Cyrus orchestrated the theft of the Adamant Orb and Lustrous Orb, artifacts intrinsically tied to the legendary Dialga and Palkia. He then ordered the capture of the Lake Trio—Azelf, Uxie, and Mesprit—to harness their powers, forging the Red Chain to enslave Dialga and Palkia. At the Spear Pillar summit on Mt. Coronet, Cyrus summoned Dialga and Palkia. Wielding the Red Chain, he commanded them to rend the existing universe apart and forge his idealized world. He explicitly barred his Team Galactic subordinates from entering this new realm, condemning them as unworthy due to their imperfections and emotional frailties. The Lake Trio shattered Cyrus’s control over the Red Chain, unraveling his scheme. The legendary Giratina then erupted from the Distortion World, incensed by the disruption Cyrus caused to space and time. Giratina obliterated the Red Chain, freeing Dialga and Palkia, and seized Cyrus, dragging him into the Distortion World. Within that realm, Cyrus recognized a void devoid of spirit and form, perfectly mirroring his vision of an emotionless existence. He contacted Saturn, a Team Galactic commander, instructing his followers to abandon their search. Cyrus declared his permanent residence in the Distortion World, having attained the reality he desired.
