Description
Chloe Collins is a wizard who resides in the Western Country. He is known for his cheerful and sociable demeanor, often appearing as a bright and bubbly young man who enjoys being in the company of others. Despite his generally upbeat nature, he is sensitive and prone to losing confidence easily, becoming dejected and lonely. This struggle with self-esteem stems from a difficult past, making him hard on himself and embarrassed by compliments. He is also a hardworking and determined individual, capable of standing his ground and speaking his mind when necessary.
Chloe was born in a town referred to as the slums of the Western Country. He is the sole wizard in a family of successful tailors, a fact that led to him being labeled a nuisance and isolated for fear he would drive away customers. He was trapped in a sewing room for much of his childhood, where his sisters and other family members subjected him to constant verbal abuse and belittlement, calling him names like skinny, ugly, and lazy. Around the age of thirteen, his life changed when Rustica Ferch, a wizard who sensed his magical aura, came to the family's shop. Mistaking Chloe for his bride, Rustica transformed him into a bird and whisked him away in a birdcage. After Rustica realized his mistake, he offered to return Chloe home, but Chloe refused, choosing instead to accompany Rustica on his travels. This event was not seen as a kidnapping but as a rescue from his abusive family. During their travels, Rustica's consistent kindness and praise helped Chloe gradually learn to like himself.
Chloe aspires to become a tailor, with the specific dream of being the best in the West. He is highly skilled in sewing, and his meticulous craftsmanship is admired even by the wizards of the Northern Country. He is responsible for creating costumes for the Wizard's House, including the ceremonial robes worn by the wizards of the Sage and outfits for various events. He carries a sewing box with him at all times, which serves as his magical tool. His nickname from another wizard, Nero Turner, is tailor-kun.
His most notable magical ability is a unique specialty that allows him to put others into a temporary death state. In the past, he would use this magic briefly to quiet rowdy children for measurements or to silence complaining customers. He also uses this power to change people's clothes efficiently.
Chloe's most significant relationship is with Rustica, who is both his savior and his magic teacher. Despite Rustica being the mentor, Chloe is the one who takes care of him, as Rustica is elegant but absent-minded and scatterbrained. Chloe diligently manages Rustica's daily needs, such as waking him and fixing his bed hair. Chloe developed romantic feelings for Rustica, confessing while still a teen but being gently rejected; however, he remains resolved to try again as an adult. Within the community of wizards, Chloe is close to others his age, including Rutile, Heathcliff, Arthur, and Shino. He finds the shy and reserved Heathcliff endearing, like a little brother he wants to protect. He also admires the wizard Bradley, thinking he is cool because he reminds Chloe of a local gang boss who protected his hometown. A distinctive physical feature is a beauty mark underneath his left eye. His wizard's crest is located on his right chest.
