Description
Kufa Vampir, a half-human, half-vampire Lancanthrope, wields both mana and anima. Born in the Night World, he survived a harsh childhood with his mother, Amalia, before escaping to Flandore. Persecution as “Night citizens” led to Amalia’s death, leaving Kufa orphaned until the White Night assassin guild, led by Father, took him in. During a lycanthrope attack in his youth, he saved Rosetti Pricket—his future adoptive sister—by transforming her into his kin, erasing her memories to shield her from trauma. Swearing loyalty to White Night, he endured grueling training to become a ruthlessly efficient assassin.

Initially detached and mission-driven, Kufa’s icy demeanor thaws when tasked with tutoring Melida Angel, ordered to kill her if she fails to manifest mana. Defying White Night, he secretly awakens her powers using his own mana, moved by her unwavering resolve. This act sparks his emotional evolution from a weaponized agent to a devoted mentor. Melida’s acceptance of his vampiric identity deepens their bond, leading him to abandon plans to erase her memories, embracing vulnerability for the first time.

Kufa’s loyalties intertwine with conflict. His guarded partnership with Melida blossoms into a concealed romance by Volume 9. He maintains a protective yet guilt-ridden bond with Rosetti, whose erased memories obscure their shared past, and clashes with Elise Angel, Melida’s cousin, who distrusts his influence. When ordered to assassinate the Angel sisters, Kufa rebels, fracturing his allegiance to Father. Their final confrontation ends with Kufa sparing Father’s life but severing all ties to the guild.

In combat, Kufa merges precision and brutality, wielding a katana with mana-enhanced techniques like Phantom Arts and Quickdraw. His vampiric heritage grants regeneration, ice manipulation, and memory sealing, while his hybrid nature unlocks a transformative “vampire form”—white-haired, crimson-eyed, and physically augmented. Combined with strategic brilliance, these abilities make him a feared opponent, countering foes like William Gin and Black Madia.

His arc across media explores duality: the light novel portrays a vengeful, cunning strategist, while the anime softens his moral ambiguity. By Volume 10, Kufa fully rejects his assassin past, prioritizing Melida’s safety and her family’s protection. This resolve cements his break from systemic violence, embracing hope and connection as his new foundation.
