Description
Nanaoka directs the Expedition Team at TV Nanana, a beleaguered network on the brink of layoffs following its acquisition by a major streaming platform. To save his crew’s jobs, he spearheads perilous assignments, most notably a quest to film the mythical Kraken in the treacherous Banana Triangle. Accompanied by a cameraman and assistant director, he battles unreliable transport, pirate skirmishes, engine malfunctions, and antiquated tech.

Swallowed by a whale mid-mission, Nanaoka shifts focus to upholding the team’s on-air persona despite the chaos, ensuring their broadcast slot remains secure. When pirates capture the crew and the network refuses ransom, he negotiates survival by aiding their captors’ online ventures.

His resourcefulness extends to brokering deals with a shadowy group asserting cryptid copyrights and partnering with an octopus hunter to track the Kraken. These alliances underscore his tactical pragmatism, blending survival instincts with career preservation.

Initially reactive, Nanaoka evolves into a strategic opportunist. Confronting the Kraken, he abandons mere documentation to exploit its profit potential, clashing with ethical and legal limits. Each choice reinforces his drive to cement the team’s standing in an unforgiving media industry.

The narrative remains anchored to his professional trials, omitting personal history beyond the expedition’s scope.
