Description
Eugeo grew up in Rulid Village within the Human Empire of Underworld, born on October 4, 361, under the Human Empire Calendar. As a child, he received the Sacred Task of felling the Gigas Cedar alongside his friend Kirito. Serving as the seventh woodcutter assigned to the ancient tree, Eugeo fulfilled a duty spanning generations. His farming family, desiring more labor for their fields, viewed this honorable calling with disappointment. Financial necessity forced Eugeo to surrender most of his earnings to his family, leaving him with little. Social isolation followed his childhood friend Alice Zuberg's arrest, as villagers distanced themselves due to his association with her.

During a childhood expedition to the Mountain Range at the Edge with Kirito and Alice, Eugeo witnessed Alice accidentally touch the Dark Territory soil, violating the Taboo Index. An Integrity Knight arrested her. Attempts to intervene failed when a system alert immobilized Eugeo. This event left him deeply scarred, and he spent six years mechanically chopping the Gigas Cedar until Kirito returned. Initially, neither recognized their shared past. Eugeo showed kindness, sharing food and aiding Kirito's settlement in Rulid. He revealed he possessed the Blue Rose Sword, a Divine Object retrieved from the mountains years prior.

When Alice’s younger sister Selka disappeared into the mountains, Eugeo joined Kirito to rescue her. Confronting goblins, he sustained severe injuries but survived after Selka transferred life energy from Kirito. This ordeal enhanced his Object Control Authority, enabling mastery of the Blue Rose Sword and faster tree-cutting. After finally felling the Gigas Cedar, he declared his ambition to become a swordsman. He then defeated village guard Jink in a duel using the self-taught Slant Sword Skill and departed for Zakkaria with Kirito.

In Zakkaria, they worked as stable hands while training. Both entered the Sword Mastery Academy in Centoria, becoming valets to Elite Disciples—Eugeo served Golgorosso Balto. Later, as an Elite Disciple himself, he mentored Tiese Schtrinen. During this period, nobles Raios Antinous and Humbert Zizek provoked Eugeo. When they attempted to assault Tiese and Ronye Arabel, Eugeo overcame his Seal of the Right Eye, breaking the Taboo Index by severing Humbert’s arm to protect the girls. This act branded him a criminal.

Arrested by Integrity Knight Alice Synthesis Thirty—his childhood friend, now memory-wiped—Eugeo was imprisoned in Central Cathedral. After escaping with Kirito, they encountered Cardinal, who revealed Underworld’s truths. During their ascent to confront Administrator Quinella, Eugeo merged with Alice’s memory fragment and the Blue Rose Sword to defeat her Sword Golem. He sustained fatal injuries attacking Quinella directly and died shortly after.

Quinella later revived him as Integrity Knight Eugeo Synthesis Thirty-Two through a Synthesis Ritual, exploiting his fractured mental state by twisting memories to depict his family’s demise as his fault. Manipulated into believing Kirito abandoned him, Eugeo fought his former friend. He ultimately resisted Quinella’s control and sacrificed himself to shatter the Administrator’s crystal, ensuring her defeat.

Eugeo evolved from a compliant rule-follower to someone challenging systemic injustice. His motivations included rescuing Alice, gaining familial validation through knighthood, and escaping lifelong loneliness due to village marriage restrictions. Relationships defined him—his bond with Kirito as equals, his unrequited affection for Alice, and Tiese’s admiration. Posthumously, his death triggered a catatonic state in Kirito and left Tiese emotionally devastated. The Blue Rose Sword, reflecting his association with ice, remained symbolic of his journey.
