Description
Suzu, a girl in feudal Japan’s Sengoku era, lives in a village guarded by her brother, warrior Shukumaru. When bandits attack, a burning beam collapses toward her—she vanishes, thrust into modern-day Japan. Found by a couple, she becomes Suzuko, her memories erased save a small bell from her past. Years later, a gas explosion hurls Suzuko back to her original time, where Shukumaru saves her from bandits. Searching for a missing modern boy, she uncovers a child’s shirt matching her neighbor Shuhei’s, bridging timelines. Villagers and Shukumaru’s fragmented recollections awaken her identity as Suzu.
After rescuing Shukumaru from a falling fiery log—mirroring her childhood trauma—she leaps through time again, unraveling the loop: the fire that displaced her as a child enables her adult return. Scars—Shukumaru’s appendectomy mark and Shuhei’s identical one—expose their shared existence across eras; Shukumaru is Shuhei, displaced years prior by the same explosion. Suzuko reconciles her dual lives, embracing her past as Suzu. Choosing to stay with Shukumaru, she seals the temporal rift by triggering the gas explosion once more, closing the cycle.
