Suzu is a zashiki warashi (house spirit) inhabiting the residence where Kiitarou moves after his expulsion from his uncle's home. She appears as a young girl with purple eyes and black hair styled in a shoulder-length bob featuring blunt bangs, complemented by a hair ornament. Her typical attire consists of traditional Japanese clothing, including a yukata, tabi socks, and geta footwear, occasionally paired with a mini skirt.

When Kiitarou first occupies her dwelling, Suzu encounters him and forms a companionship. Their home evolves into a nexus for assorted spirits and demons. While their daily coexistence remains generally harmonious, sporadic conflicts emerge, such as Kiitarou’s attempts to recruit her help with chores inadvertently igniting wars between youkai armies.

Suzu interacts not only with Kiitarou but also with other supernatural entities residing in or visiting the house. Key figures include Nurikabe, manifesting as a wall obstructing travelers; Mokumokuren, appearing as eyes in torn paper walls; and Komen no Onna, a border guard spirit. These connections foster the household’s dynamic atmosphere as a supernatural meeting point.

Suzu’s existence revolves entirely around her role as the dwelling’s guardian spirit, with her foundational interactions within this setting defining her narrative.
