Fuyunyan, also known as Hovernyan, is a Brave tribe Yo-kai resembling a blue, tailless cat, always hovering above ground. He sports a red cape, a belt with a swirl buckle, and a distinctive white forehead scar. His appearance dramatically shifts during transformations: consuming excess air swells him into Meganyan, a large, mushroom-covered form with a cork at his rear. Channeling collective Yo-kai energy transforms him into Darknyan, featuring black fur, a dark blue cape, yellow eyes, fangs, and a jagged facial patch.
Heroic and intensely loyal, Fuyunyan charges into danger to aid others, enthusiastically announcing his combat moves. He formed a profound bond with Nathaniel Adams after Nathaniel discovered him through a marble, remaining fiercely devoted. Fuyunyan exhibits remarkable patience, waiting decades for the right individual to fulfill missions, though his focus can waver over time. He occasionally shows embarrassment, particularly regarding his Meganyan form.
His abilities include flight and enhanced strength, with expertise in hand-to-hand combat like his signature Gusty Forward Pawnch, unleashing powerful wind bursts. Using a Reverstone, he transported Nate, Jibanyan, and Whisper 60 years into the past to help Nathaniel confront the Wicked Yo-kai and ensure the watch's creation. He sustained injuries in battles but later empowered Nate and Nathaniel to defeat a CGI monster.
