Description
Monspiet is a demon and a member of the Ten Commandments, an elite group of warriors handpicked by the Demon King. He is designated as the Reticence, a title tied to his commandment, the full effects of which are not clearly depicted. He was originally sealed within the Coffin of Eternal Darkness alongside the rest of the Demon Clan and was later released by the actions of the Holy Knight Hendrickson. After his revival, he sought to restore his magical power by consuming human souls, a goal shared by his fellow Ten Commandments.

In terms of personality, Monspiet is notably composed and well-mannered compared to many of his comrades. He dislikes crude and rude behavior, and he carries himself with a sense of restraint and politeness. He acts as a consistent partner and assistant to Derieri, another member of the Ten Commandments, often staying close to her and fulfilling her needs. This partnership defines much of his role in the story, as the two operate as a pair throughout their appearances. His primary motivation is tied to his loyalty to the Demon Clan and his duty under the Demon King, though he also demonstrates a degree of personal attachment and care toward Derieri.

Monspiet possesses a high degree of sensory and homing attack capability, allowing him to detect powerful groups, such as Meliodas and the Seven Deadly Sins, from hundreds of kilometers away. He can also launch attacks that lock onto and trap his targets from that distance. His primary ability is known as Trick Star, which allows him to exchange or swap two objects between each other. This power is used creatively in combat, enabling him to reposition himself, his allies, or his enemies, and to redirect attacks. In addition, like all members of the Demon Clan, he can manipulate jet-black darkness, forming wings for flight and other constructs. He also employs hellfire-based attacks and a technique called Conjurer's Joke, which he used against Estarossa to temporarily immobilize him. His overall power level is recorded at 53,000.

Key relationships include his close bond with Derieri, with whom he consistently coordinates. His interactions with other Ten Commandments members, such as Estarossa and Zeldris, are marked by tension and rivalry, particularly with Estarossa, whose more brutish approach clashes with Monspiet's tactical and trick-based fighting style. His role in the story centers on serving as an antagonist to the Seven Deadly Sins, engaging in battles that test the protagonists' growing strength. Over the course of the narrative, his character develops moments of deeper loyalty and sacrifice, particularly in relation to Derieri, which highlight a more personal dimension beneath his composed exterior.
