Description
Satoshi, a 10-year-old Pokémon trainer from Pallet Town, journeys to the Forest of Okoya near Milyfa Town. There, he encounters Koko, a human child raised by the mythical Pokémon Zarude. After witnessing Koko fall into a river during an accident, Satoshi rescues him and takes him to a Pokémon Center for medical treatment.
When Koko awakens in the unfamiliar human environment and panics, Satoshi intervenes to calm him down. Recognizing Koko's unfamiliarity with human society, Satoshi introduces him to various aspects of human life in Milyfa Town, helping him navigate the town and understand human customs. During a festival, Satoshi assists Koko in resolving an issue where Falinks Pokémon were preventing fireworks from launching.
Satoshi later accompanies Koko and Zarude to an abandoned laboratory, where they discover evidence about Koko's human parents. When Koko becomes distressed learning about his parents' fate, Satoshi offers support by sharing his own experiences about how relationships shape identity, encouraging Koko by comparing their bonds with parental figures.
After Dr. Zed's Biotope Company attacks the Great Tree, Satoshi actively participates in defending it alongside Koko and the Zarude tribe. He coordinates with Pikachu to disable Zed's mechanical weapon by exploiting its weak point. Following the conflict, Satoshi assists in restoration efforts to repair the damaged jungle alongside both humans and Pokémon.
Before departing the Forest of Okoya to continue his journey, Satoshi witnesses Koko's decision to explore the human world while embracing his dual identity. He observes the harmonious interaction between humans and Pokémon during the restoration efforts and the subsequent geyser farewell created by Zarude for Koko.
