Satoshi arrives in Dahara City suddenly, transported through Hoopa's interdimensional ring while traveling a desert region. This teleportation occurs as he tries to stop Hoopa from taking food, bringing him and Pikachu to the city.
When Hoopa's destructive shadow form manifests after the Prison Bottle sealing its power tears open, Satoshi actively protects Hoopa's confined form. He coordinates defenses with summoned Legendary Pokémon, directing Latios, Latias, and Rayquaza in aerial combat against the shadow-controlled Primal Groudon, Primal Kyogre, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, and Kyurem. He physically joins this conflict by riding Latios and Latias.
A critical moment unfolds as Satoshi catches the newly forged Prison Bottle, leading to his temporary possession by Hoopa's shadow. Possessed, he unwillingly acts on the shadow's destructive intentions. Pikachu attempts to intervene before resolution comes when Hoopa shares cherished memories with its shadow, dispelling its anger and freeing Satoshi.
Throughout the crisis, Satoshi collaborates with Hoopa's caretakers, Baraz and Meray, to recreate the Prison Bottle. He supports their efforts by providing his Frogadier; its water-based abilities aid the bottle's forging alongside Serena's Braixen and a wild Hippopotas. He also instantly recognizes Lugia from a prior encounter when Hoopa summons it.
His actions consistently emphasize protective instincts toward humans and Pokémon, shielding Hoopa's confined form and ensuring civilian safety during the Legendary Pokémon clashes and the ensuing space-time distortion threatening Dahara City.
