Description
Komakaachan is a giant white komainu yo-kai adorned with purple swirls. She belongs to the Charming tribe, though occasionally designated as part of the Heartful tribe in specific game contexts. Her design uniquely features a full-body representation in games where other yo-kai typically appear as heads only.
As the mother of Komasan and Komajiro, she resides quietly in the countryside, maintaining a close relationship with her sons through letters. Her maternal nature extends beyond her biological children; she temporarily adopts an abandoned human infant named Komasaburo, cares for him, and later reunites him with his biological parents. She subsequently gives birth to a daughter, Komami, and tasks Komasan and Komajiro with locating her using social media photos.
Her major appearances start in "Yo-kai Watch the Movie: Lord Enma and the Five Tales, Nyan!", where her sons visit her and discover Komasaburo. In "Yo-kai Watch the Movie: The Great Adventure of the Flying Whale & the Double World, Nyan!", Nate Adams uses her yo-kai medal to save Kanami from a fatal fall; this medal was gifted to Nate by Komasan as thanks. She also appears briefly in a flashback in the anime episode "Let's Go To Work!: Yo-kai Daycare" and is humorously implicated in creating crop circles. In the spin-off series "Yo-kai Watch!", she contacts her sons to announce Komami's birth and instructs them to find her using "Inzuragram".
Game appearances include "Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble", where she is a limited-time playable Rank Z yo-kai obtained during the "Gates of Whimsy ~A journey to find Komami~" event. Her Soultimate move, "Mother's Heart Bless", affects all poppers and deals increased damage during Fever mode. Her passive skill triggers additional Wib Wob drops after popping a +4 size Wib Wob. She also appears as a playable character in "Yo-kai Sangokushi: Kunitori Wars" and "Yo-kai Watch World".
