Description
Tama is a young girl residing in a rural village plunged into unnatural, perpetual darkness after a solar eclipse. Afflicted by a disease causing extreme photosensitivity, exposure to sunlight poses a severe hazard to her skin. Her protective father confined her indoors, prohibiting outdoor activities and interactions with other villagers. This prolonged isolation fostered deep resentment towards her father for enforcing her confinement and jealousy towards her sister, who lived a normal, unrestricted life.

The extended darkness caused by the mushi Hihami offered Tama an opportunity to escape her home. She departed without considering her family's potential worry, driven by a desperate desire to experience the outside world and freedom long denied to her. Her actions during this escape reflected her emotional turmoil and stunted social development, expressing anger and perceiving her father's protectiveness as oppressive without comprehending his motivations.

Her journey outside coincided with Ginko's investigation into the village's darkness. The resolution of the Hihami incident involved Tama confronting the consequences of her choices and recognizing her father's genuine concern. This led to her eventual return home, marking a shift from rebellion towards an understanding of her family's intentions.
