After his rescue, Robert reveals the cocoon's importance to Honey and her allies, linking it to his girlfriend Clair, who resembles Honey. When Panther Claw kidnaps Natsuko Aki for a ritual to unlock an emerald treasure connected to the cocoon, Robert joins Honey and Seiji Hayami tracking the group to South America. There, he employs practical skills, using a shotgun to disrupt Panther Claw's ritual. Following the cocoon's hatching, Robert identifies the emerging butterflies as the true "emerald treasure" from ancient lore. Choosing conservation over research, he keeps their discovery secret to protect their habitat from environmental disturbance. Following these events, he acknowledges Honey's secret identity as Cutie Honey.
