Description
Eldrie Woolsburg, later designated Eldrie Synthesis Thirty-one, was the eldest son of Eschdol Woolsburg, a first-class noble and the Norlangarth North Empire's greatest commander. Trained within the Imperial Knight Order, he earned the role of its representative for the Empire Swordsmanship Tournament. His victories over Sortiliena Serlut and Volo Levantein secured him the championship in the Four Empires Unity Tournament, resulting in an invitation to the Central Cathedral. Supreme Priest Quinella performed a Synthesis Ritual upon him there, suppressing his memories and embedding a Piety Module to enforce loyalty, transforming him into an Integrity Knight.

He possessed a tall, thin frame, a strikingly beautiful face, rugged eyebrows, and long pale purple hair. As an Integrity Knight, he wore polished silver armor and a purple mantle bearing the crest of a cross through a circle. His innate pride and conceit, rooted in his noble lineage, persisted despite the memory suppression. Though initially intending to avoid Alice Synthesis Thirty, the Order's prodigy, witnessing her mourn her deceased dragon in the cathedral's rose garden shifted his perspective, revealing her vulnerability and evoking protective instincts. This led him to become her disciple. Despite Alice's far superior talent, he trained zealously and sought conversation, hoping to earn her recognition as both a swordsman and a man.

Assigned to guard the maze outside the prison holding Eugeo and Kirito, Eldrie initially doubted their escape potential. When they emerged, he confronted them utilizing his Frost Scale Whip enhanced by Armament Full Control Art. During the battle, Eugeo triggered Eldrie's latent memories by recalling his identity as the Four Empires Unity Tournament champion. This caused a purple prism to protrude from Eldrie's forehead, signifying memory disruption, though the process was interrupted by another knight's intervention.

Later, investigating in the Northern region near Rulid Village, Eldrie encountered Alice. He attempted to persuade her to return to her duties as an Integrity Knight, attributing her refusal to her nursing of the catatonic Kirito. When Eldrie suggested eliminating Kirito, Alice intervened. Learning of her doubts about wielding the sword, he abandoned his persuasion efforts.

At the Battle of the Great Eastern Gate, Eldrie commanded the left flank of the First Unit of the Human Guardian Army against the Dark Territory. His forces were bypassed by goblin smoke grenades, enabling the enemy advance. After massacring the fleeing goblins in frustration, he confided his sense of failure to Alice, who offered reassurance. When the ogre chief Furgr threatened to capture Alice, Eldrie charged in rage but was halted by her tactical intervention.

During a subsequent Dark Territory assault, a large-scale curse targeted the Human Empire's decoy army. Seeing Alice move to intercept it, Eldrie intervened, deploying his whip's Armament Full Control Art to absorb the curse's full impact. This act destroyed his upper body. Alice caught his remains, and he died in her arms, content in having ensured her safety. His Divine Object, the Frost Scale Whip, originated from a two-headed sea serpent and was associated with water-based Sacred Arts, often manifesting as aqueous-element birds. He was frequently linked to an indigo color motif among the Integrity Knights.
