Description
Renly Synthesis Twenty-Seven, originally named Renly, was a prodigy swordsman from the Southacroith South Empire, unmatched in his homeland from youth. He shared a deep bond with a childhood friend, training and competing alongside them. At thirteen, both advanced to Central Capital Centoria, qualifying for the Four Empires Unity Tournament the next year. During the tournament finals, Renly accidentally killed his friend. Though victorious and granted Integrity Knight status, the event left him traumatized, instilling a profound fear of killing. This trauma persisted even after the Synthesis Ritual suppressed his memories, leaving him unable to find joy in combat or personal connections.
Physically, Renly appears youthful due to halted aging at fifteen. He possesses short green hair (described as gray in novels) featuring braided locks at his temples, golden eyes, and a round, boyish face. His attire consists of silvery plate armor worn over green clothing, a chest plate bearing the Axiom Church's crest, bluish thigh-high socks, and a white mantle.
Renly's fear of combat worsened an inferiority complex after he failed to invoke the Armament Full Control Art for his Divine Object, Twin Edged Wings, despite strong resonance with it. Deemed a failure by Administrator Quinella, Chief Elder Chudelkin placed him in cryostasis for five years. Awakening after Quinella's defeat, Renly joined the Human Guardian Army against the Dark Territory invasion, hoping to understand his shortcomings. Yet, during the initial battle at the Great Eastern Gate, his fear overwhelmed him as commander of the left flank. He fled his post, allowing goblin forces to infiltrate the Human Empire's camp. Later, inspired by Kirito, Renly overcame his trauma, enabling him to unleash the Twin Edged Wings' true power in combat.
He participated in key war operations, including the decoy unit mission to lure Dark Territory forces away from the Human Empire, riding his dragon Kazenui. Renly survived the conflict and remained active as an Integrity Knight afterward. His primary weapon is the Twin Edged Wings, a Divine Object-class set of throwing knives granted by Quinella, requiring high concentration to wield effectively.
