Tom is a young second-grade cat defined by his curiosity and distractibility. During summer break, he joins classmate Amy and friends to investigate mysterious lights at Mount Pinto. While exploring, he observes a peculiar pink balloon-like figure in a puddle, though Amy dismisses it. The group later discovers unusual rock formations; when Tom touches one, its surface turns sticky, pulling them into an otherworldly dimension.

Tom exhibits spontaneity and playfulness, diving into a sparkling pit resembling soap bubbles while friend Alex suggests scientific analysis. His physical resilience emerges when the lost group propels him upward with metal stakes and ropes to find an exit. He climbs through a ceiling tunnel to reach the surface, enabling the others' escape.

In the interdimensional space, Tom, Amy, and the childlike entity Chiki—representing Earth—are transported together. Chiki reveals Earth faces destruction unless six fragmented pieces are restored. Tom participates in initial reassembly attempts that fail due to inexperience. Their mission requires global travel, including to the Bird Clan domain, cats' historical adversaries. Though elders reject them, Tom secures three magical seeds resembling acorns with help from Ludo, a rebellious young bird. When one seed fails to animate Tom’s shovel, Ludo’s intervention transforms it into a flying vehicle for their escape.

Throughout the journey, Tom collaborates with friends to overcome obstacles. Their collective efforts culminate in restoring Earth’s harmony, concluding the adventure with success that symbolizes unity and resolution.
