Description
Nataku Son, also sometimes called Takkun or Tatsu by those close to him, is a young boy living in Tokyo whose life is irrevocably changed when he is forcibly bitten by a Bug. This traumatic event awakens his latent pyrokinetic abilities, marking him as a Third Generation. He is subsequently taken by the Haijima Industries' Ability Development Lab, where he becomes a test subject in their experiments to cultivate an Adolla Burst.

Nataku is, at his core, a straightforward and kind-hearted child who wishes to help others and be strong. He demonstrated this innate bravery when he attempted to stop Rekka Hoshimiya from turning innocent people into Infernals. However, the ordeal of being bitten by the Bug and the subsequent harsh experiments leave him deeply scarred and mentally fragile. He suffers from post-traumatic stress and experiences recurring hallucinations of Rekka, who appears in his mind as a manipulative voice urging him to become more powerful. This inner turmoil creates a core conflict within him: his genuine desire for safety and normalcy versus the external pressure to become a weapon.

His primary motivation is a simple, desperate wish to go home and escape the pain and fear of his captivity. This emotional state is what ultimately triggers his connection to the Adolla realm. His role in the story becomes pivotal when he is discovered by Shinra Kusakabe and Viktor Licht during their investigation of Haijima. Nataku's overwhelming fear and longing for home resonate through an Adolla Link with Shinra, leading to his awakening as the Sixth Pillar. This event triggers a three-way struggle among Haijima Industries, Fire Force Company 8, and the White-Clad cult, all of whom seek to claim him for their own purposes.

His key relationships are defined by trauma and conflict. Rekka Hoshimiya is the source of his deepest psychological scars, and his ghost haunts Nataku throughout his development. The sadistic trainer Kurono Yuuchiro is his antagonist at Haijima, forcing him through brutal combat drills to force his powers to grow. Conversely, Shinra Kusakabe represents a beacon of hope, as his empathy and determination reach Nataku through the Adolla Link, offering the first genuine connection and a potential path to rescue.

As a Third Generation pyrokinetic, Nataku's initial ability is an Ignition Ability that allows him to manifest a claw of fire from his right arm. After awakening his Adolla Burst as the Sixth Pillar, his powers undergo a dramatic escalation. His abilities become rooted in the emotion of fear, manifesting as flames that behave like radiation. He can generate floating symbols of fire from which he fires devastating beams of energy that can cut through concrete and travel great distances. He can also create massive explosions of radioactive energy, the scale of which is so immense that an unchecked blast threatened to destroy the entire Tokyo Empire. While his power is immense, it is largely involuntary and tied to his emotional state. His lack of control and fragile mental state are his greatest weaknesses, preventing him from fully harnessing or directing his abilities with precision.
