He has spiky light grey hair, teal eyes, and distinctive piercings: three in each ear and two more in place of his absent eyebrows. As a member of the White Clad, he wears a variation of the organization's uniform, which is primarily white and features the cross of the Sol God symbol across the chest.

Assault initially presents himself as a stoic and consummate professional, taking great pride in his abilities as a killer and his dedication to the White Clad's mission. He has a personal code regarding his work, noting that while murdering women and children displeases him, his mercy only extends to granting them quick deaths. However, this taciturn and intimidating demeanor masks a deeply shy and awkward personality, specifically around nubile young women. He becomes easily flustered by scantily clad women or suggestive situations, a weakness that consistently undermines his combat effectiveness. Despite his overconfidence in his rigorous training, he is capable of self-reflection, constantly analyzing his shortcomings to find ways to improve. His ultimate conclusion is that his own feelings towards a target are the determining factor in his ability to make a kill.

Assault is a powerful Third Generation pyrokinetic, granting him the ability to generate and control flames. His signature Ignition Ability is called Crimson Bullet, which allows him to create multiple missiles of condensed fire around his limbs and launch them at opponents. These projectiles cause massive damage and can launch targets into the air upon explosion. His reputation for astonishing power and ruthless efficiency has earned him several titles within the White Clad, including Bloody Fire Blast, The Assassin from the Abyss, and Perfect Soldier. His strength is such that he is capable of killing a Demon Infernal alone, and it was believed he could have annihilated Special Fire Force Company 8 single-handedly if he had been functioning properly during a critical battle.

Assault was formerly a member of an elite White Clad assassination faction known as the Destroyers, or Butchers, before joining the Knights of the Ashen Flame. In his role within the organization, he is a massacre expert who specializes in annihilation. His most significant relationship is a recurring and comedic rivalry with Tamaki Kotatsu of Company 8. In their first major encounter, he easily overpowers her, but is thrown into complete disarray by her involuntary Lucky Lecher Lure ability, which creates accidental indecent situations. This vulnerability allows her allies to defeat him. This defeat becomes a primary motivation for his character development. Determined to exact revenge and overcome his fatal weakness, Assault undertakes extensive training, including visiting cabaret clubs and studying adult material to build immunity to erotic stimuli. Despite these determined efforts, his weakness proves to be deeply ingrained, and he consistently finds himself defeated by the same phenomenon, his attraction to Tamaki ultimately becoming an insurmountable obstacle.
