TV Special
Description
Hinata appears solely in the *Mushishi Tokubetsu-hen: Hihamukage* special as a supporting character. She is Hiyori's twin sister, living in a farming village plunged into perpetual darkness by a solar eclipse. Unlike Hiyori, Hinata lacks a sunlight-sensitive condition and leads a typical life, creating a significant emotional rift. Hiyori's confinement fuels resentment towards her sister, while Hinata experiences guilt over her own freedom.

Growing up under their father's strict oversight focused on Hiyori's illness, Hinata became a symbol of the life Hiyori could not have, fostering Hiyori's intense jealousy and bitterness. When Hiyori escapes during the eclipse-induced darkness, Hinata actively joins the search, demonstrating concern for her sister's safety despite their strained relationship.

Hinata's development occurs during the resolution of the Mushi incident. Her efforts to find Hiyori and willingness to confront their family tensions contribute to Hiyori's reconciliation with their circumstances. This leads to mutual understanding, with Hinata playing a role in Hiyori's acceptance of her condition and their father's protective motives.

The character is exclusive to this special. Her narrative centers on her relationship with Hiyori and the impact of the Hihami Mushi on their village.
