Description
Yatsuhiro Kazanari is a Japanese male affiliated with national security operations, engaging in activities that straddle the line between legal and illegal boundaries. He serves as a National Security Specialist and belongs to the influential Kazanari family, being the elder son of Fudo Kazanari and the older brother of Genjuro Kazanari.

Tsubasa Kazanari is recognized as his daughter, though biologically she is his younger half-sister. This complex relationship resulted from Fudo Kazanari impregnating Yatsuhiro's wife to preserve the Kazanari bloodline's purity. While presenting a cold and dismissive attitude toward Tsubasa, viewing her primarily as a tool for the family legacy, Yatsuhiro harbored concealed concern for her well-being. His harsh demeanor during her childhood aimed to distance her from the family's burdens, hoping she would pursue her own dreams instead of becoming entangled in their conflicts.

Yatsuhiro facilitated Maria Cadenzavna Eve's transfer to S.O.N.G. upon her request, demonstrating his influence within bureaucratic channels. His actions often aligned with Japan's strategic interests, though his methods remained ambiguous and morally flexible.

During the events of *Symphogear XV*, Yatsuhiro confronted his father Fudo's manipulation and betrayal, particularly after Fudo seized control of Tsubasa using Millaarc's "Stained Glance" ability. Yatsuhiro intervened to arrest Fudo for treason, citing the illicit pursuit of the Custodians' power. This led to a direct confrontation at the Kazanari estate. Fudo refused surrender and deployed Alca-Noise against Yatsuhiro and allied forces. Amidst the chaos, Fudo attempted to execute Tsubasa for disobedience. Yatsuhiro shielded her, sustaining a fatal gunshot wound. In his final moments, he emphasized to Tsubasa that people are protected not because they are weak, but because they are inherently worth protecting. He expressed regret for never encouraging her to follow her heart as a singer. Yatsuhiro succumbed to his injury shortly after, disregarded by Fudo, who continued his assault on Tsubasa.

His death served as a catalyst for Tsubasa's emotional turmoil and subsequent resolve.
