Description
Shioriko Mifune enters Nijigasaki High School as a first-year student and member of the student council, later becoming the school's youngest president following Setsuna Yuki. Born into the prestigious, wealthy Mifune family as the second daughter, her background is deeply shaped by her older sister Kaoruko, a former school idol. Shioriko admired idols during her sister's time but developed a fear of pursuing such activities after witnessing Kaoruko's group fail to reach the Love Live competition. This experience led her to suppress her own interest, adopting a pragmatic philosophy that students should prioritize activities with assured success over personal passions.

Initially, this stance positions her in opposition to the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. Within the game narrative, she challenges Setsuna's leadership through a re-election campaign, explicitly intending to disband the club if victorious. Her pragmatic approach emphasizes efficiency and measurable outcomes, viewing idol activities as distracting from academic and extracurricular success. She appears strict, analytically critical, and sometimes cold, utilizing her talent for identifying strengths and weaknesses to offer blunt yet effective advice that initially upsets others before they recognize its value. Beneath this reserved exterior lies a genuine desire to guide peers toward success and a yearning for connection.

The anime adaptation presents a more consistently supportive and kind personality from her introduction. As a student council member, she maintains neutrality toward the idol club, occasionally assisting with activities despite her reservations. Her internal conflict stems from admiring school idols while fearing failure. This version highlights her politeness and discretion, exemplified when she discovers Setsuna's dual identity as Nana Nakagawa and promises secrecy. Encouraged by club members to confront her fears, she eventually joins the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club as its 10th school idol and 11th member—marking her as the franchise's first addition to an established nine-member group. She later forms the subunit R3BIRTH with Zhong Lanzhu and Mia Taylor.

Her transition from critic to participant involves reconciling her pragmatic ideals with the club's ethos of passion and self-expression. This journey includes recognizing the fulfillment idols derive from their activities, observed during her presidency while continuing volunteer work like community cleanups and childcare center interactions.

Academically gifted and tradition-oriented, she is trained in Japanese cultural arts like flower arranging, tea ceremony, and traditional dance, proficient enough to instruct others. She wears a kimono at home, reflecting her cultural values. Physically slim with semi-long dark green hair, vermilion eyes, and a signature small yellow hair ribbon worn on the left side, her image color is jade, reflected in her penlight color.
