TV-Series
Description
Kirika Akatsuki is a Japanese teenager who transitions from antagonist to protagonist within the series. An orphan lacking memory of her true birthday, she received April 13 as her assigned date upon joining the F.I.S. organization. Her difficult childhood involved famine and surviving a bombing, forging resilience and a deep appreciation for necessities like food.

She possesses green eyes and short blonde hair held by an X-shaped clip on her left bangs. Her attire evolves: initially, she wears a black or black-and-green short-sleeved shirt with puffed sleeves featuring white crosses, a yellow ruffled skirt, black-and-white striped stockings, brown boots, and black and green arm and leg warmers. Later outfits include a black tank top with a white X under a green hoodie with a devil tail, light green shorts, and black and green thigh-highs with matching shoes; or a light green and black high-collared top with a heart-shaped cutout, a pleated white skirt, and chaps-styled pants with green socks and black boots. She sleeps in a light green and white striped one-piece.

Kirika displays a cheerful, energetic, and often childish personality, approaching life with enthusiastic joy. She engages in playful antics like gambling with vending machines or teasing others. This exuberance contrasts with underlying maturity, especially in combat, where she shows serious dedication and a willingness to sacrifice her life to protect humanity and loved ones. She forms intensely loyal bonds with Shirabe Tsukuyomi and Maria Cadenzavna Eve, viewing them as irreplaceable family forged through their shared traumatic past as experimental subjects. Her devotion to Shirabe borders on the romantic, and she is fiercely protective, prioritizing Shirabe's safety above all. She habitually ends sentences with "death" (デス *desu*).

This loyalty makes her vulnerable to deep emotional distress when her identity or relationships are threatened. After falsely believing herself the reincarnation of the entity Finé, she experiences severe panic over losing her sense of self, culminating in a suicide attempt upon discovering Shirabe is actually the vessel. Shirabe prevents this act, leading Kirika to regain her equilibrium and reaffirm her commitment to protecting Shirabe and their world. She harbors a strong aversion to school homework.

Wielding the Relic Igalima, Kirika utilizes Symphogear armor to combat Noise. Her Armed Gear manifests as a large green scythe capable of transforming into various edged weapons; inactive, it resembles a sickle. The gear also features four shoulder pauldrons functioning as rockets or grappling hooks. Her combat style incorporates symphonic rock, and her attack names often reference fairy tales or mythology. She requires the drug LiNKER to synchronize with and activate her Symphogear. She fights almost exclusively alongside Shirabe, whose Relic Shul Shagana complements Igalima. Together, they execute powerful combination attacks like "Forbidden Wheel of Evil: Zababa Eclipse" and "Polyfilm Scissor Love Dreams," frequently accompanied by duets merging their individual battle songs.

Her story begins as an antagonist with F.I.S., participating in battles against main Symphogear wielders, including ambushing Tsubasa Kazanari at a concert and later fighting Hibiki Tachibana and Chris Yukine. After Dr. Ver's defeat and the revelation about Finé's true vessel, Kirika, Shirabe, and Maria surrender and serve a prison sentence. Released the next season, Kirika returns as an ally integrated into S.O.N.G. She actively participates in missions against threats like the Autoscorers, Bavarian Illuminati, and their alchemists (Saint-Germain, Prelati, Cagliostro), often fighting alongside Shirabe against foes like Micha and later confronting Adam Weishaupt. Throughout, her primary motivations remain protecting Shirabe, Maria, and their world, solidifying her role as a key protagonist committed to safeguarding humanity alongside her comrades.
