Description
Mii, a junior high school student, visits Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park on a school trip with her classmate Yuko. In a secluded area of the park, she discovers a monument dedicated to Dr. Marcel Junod, awakening her curiosity about his identity and historical importance. Immediately after this discovery, Mii and Yuko experience an unexplained phenomenon: a strange light transports them back in time over 70 years to 1940s Europe.

Displaced in time, Mii directly observes Dr. Junod conducting humanitarian work across World War II settings, including Ethiopia, Spain, and European battlefields. She witnesses his efforts to improve prisoner of war treatment, negotiate prisoner exchanges, establish systems for POWs to correspond with families, and secure routes for vital relief supplies. Mii sees Dr. Junod providing moral support to vulnerable and suffering individuals caught in the conflict.

Observing Dr. Junod's profound dedication and compassion in these dire circumstances prompts Mii to reflect on her own life circumstances and personal challenges. Witnessing his actions serves as a catalyst for her to contemplate her own values, decisions, and the nature of her difficulties.
