Description
Kishirika Kishirisu is a character from the anime Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation. She is known as the Great Empress of the Demon Realm, a title that belies her frequent appearance as a young, starving girl wandering from town to town. Despite her childlike form, she is an immensely ancient and powerful figure, having led the demon clans in the great wars against humanity over seven thousand years before the main story begins. Her true, adult form is said to be that of a voluptuous and striking woman, but she rarely appears in this state within the main narrative.

In terms of appearance, Kishirika has pale skin, long and voluminous violet hair, and small goat-like horns protruding from her head. One of her most distinctive features is her heterochromatic eyes, which can rapidly spin and change color as she cycles through the various demon eyes she possesses. Her attire is often unconventional and revealing, consisting of black leather straps and accessories, which has led to characters like Rudeus privately referring to her with nicknames that comment on her unusual outfit. She also sports chains attached to cuffs on her wrists, remnants of a centuries-long imprisonment she once suffered.

Her personality is a stark contrast to what one might expect from a great demon empress. Kishirika is famously simple-minded, arrogant, impulsive, and incredibly easy to fool. She speaks with an archaic, noble cadence, referring to herself with the pronoun warawa, which adds to her peculiar charm. Her thoughtless and carefree nature often leads her into absurdly dangerous situations, such as forgetting to eat and nearly starving to death, which is a primary cause of her frequent deaths and resurrections. She can often be found begging for food, a state of being that has made her more of a homeless wanderer than a revered monarch, to the point where few believe her when she proudly announces her true identity. Despite her haughty claims, she is generally lenient and will gratefully grant a wish or a gift, typically a demon eye, to anyone who offers her aid, especially food.

Kishirika's primary role in the story is as a benefactor, granting powerful demon eyes to those who assist her. Her most significant act is giving Rudeus Greyrat the Foresight Eye after he rescues her from a man in an alley and gives her food. On a later occasion, she provides him with the Clairvoyant Eye in exchange for a donut. She also provides crucial information, warning Rudeus about her fiancé, Badigadi, and revealing that she and Badigadi were once apostles of Hitogami, the human God, whom she now despises. She promises to aid Rudeus in any matter concerning Hitogami, a vow that underscores her deep-seated grudge. Similarly, she grants the Identification Eye to Cliff Grimoire after he feeds her, mistaking her for a simple beggar.

Her key relationships are rooted in her long history. She is engaged to Badigadi, the Demon Lord of Immortality, and seems genuinely fond of him, though she does not mind if he is intimate with other women due to her current childlike body preventing such relations with him. Her relationship with the Demon God Laplace is one of resentment; she feels he has stolen her glory and eclipsed her legacy as the leader of the demons. She also has a turbulent history with the demon lord Atoferatofe Raibaku, who has tricked and imprisoned her on at least one occasion.

Kishirika possesses a unique form of immortality. When she dies, she does not perish permanently but instead takes around five hundred years to resurrect in the form of a young girl, requiring another five hundred years to fully mature into her adult form. Because she dies so often due to her own foolishness, she is very frequently seen in her childlike state. Her most notable ability is her mastery over demon eyes. She carries twelve different types of demon eyes within her body, including the Magic Power Eye, which visualizes mana; the Identification Eye, which reveals details of an object; the X-ray Eye, which allows her to see through solid, non-living matter; the Clairvoyant Eye, for seeing distant locations; and the Foresight Eye, which allows her to see a few moments into the future. More importantly, she has the unique power to produce, control, and bestow these demon eyes onto others, transforming their ordinary eyes. This ability is not a standard magical technique but is described as a curse-like anomaly intrinsic to her being. While her physical combat ability is considered unremarkable by the standards of gods and demon kings, she still possesses the strength to restrain a Saint-rank swordsman, even in her child form. Her true power lies not in direct fighting but in the strategic advantage her gifted eyes can provide to her allies.
