Description
Alan Ojiro, also known as Aran Ojiro, is a third-year student and ace wing spiker for Inarizaki High’s volleyball team. He ranks among Japan’s top five high school aces, capable of rivaling the nation’s elite trio at his best. Standing 184.7 cm tall in high school with a muscular frame, he sports dark brown hair, thick eyebrows, and almond-shaped eyes with distinctive foxlike pupils (gold-brown in manga renditions, greyish-green in the anime). After graduation, his height reaches 186.6 cm and he grows a short goatee. He wears jersey number 4 and serves as court captain when Shinsuke Kita is absent.

Calm and grounded, Ojiro often acts as the straight man to the Miya twins’ chaotic energy, though his competitive fervor can occasionally flare mid-match, leading to overzealous spikes or rushed plays that he must recalibrate. He champions the validity of emotions without logical justification, insisting that feelings like happiness require no rationale. His volleyball journey traces back to elementary school, where a workshop first connected him with the Miya twins. He observed their sibling rivalry, noting Atsumu’s relentless ambition alongside Osamu’s steadier resolve.

During high-stakes matches such as the Tokyo Nationals against Karasuno, his explosive serves and spikes anchor the team’s offense. Opponents target him with float serves to curb his impact, a challenge he counters by honing his reception skills. Post-graduation, Ojiro joins the Tachibana Red Falcons in Japan’s V.League Division 1 as an outside hitter and represents the national team at the 2021 Olympics. His professional prowess includes top-tier spiking, refined serves, and strong blocking. Despite his accolades, he humorously admits to missing the spirited dynamic of his high school days, particularly the Miya twins’ antics.

He shares a close camaraderie with Kita, urging him to balance discipline with emotional authenticity, and his bond with the Miya twins blends playful rivalry with mutual growth. Personal quirks include lighthearted self-deprecation over wardrobe malfunctions—recurring holes in pants or socks—and a fondness for Ritz crackers. His birthday is April 4. On the court, his jump serve and spikes can pierce triple blocks, while his defensive instincts evolve to counter float serves. High school evaluations highlight his power and jumping ability, and post-timeskip stats cement his status as a spiking virtuoso with near-perfect serve precision.
