The family settled in Maple Town at the series' outset, where she promptly formed friendships with locals like Bobby Bear. Together they embarked on adventures, frequently countering a local thief's schemes while showcasing her energetic, cheerful, and helpful nature.

Roughly one year later, Patty moved to Palm Town with her Aunt Jane, whose husband managed a medical center there. Adjusting proved difficult initially, as she longed for Maple Town and her friends. In Palm Town, her attire shifted from a pink dress and apron to a white dress featuring pink accents: thin outlines, heart-shaped buttons, a waist ribbon, and a bold pink line across the lower torso.

Her Palm Town life transformed when she rescued Rolley, a cocker spaniel, from the antagonistic Cat Brothers. This sparked a deep friendship that anchored her new experiences. Patty and Rolley navigated daily routines, forged fresh bonds, and built memories in a setting blending 1980s West Coast aesthetics with retro-era technology. While focusing on community connections in Palm Town, her original Maple Town friends appeared only in occasional cameos.
