Description
The character designated "Cellule ordinaire" (Ordinary Cell) is a somatic cell performing routine replication through cell division. He displays a standardized appearance with dark hair, black pants, and a white T-shirt marked "cell," reflecting his nondescript nature among identical normal cells. He resides near the pharynx, an area containing lymph nodes.

Initially disillusioned by repetitive duties, he perceives replication as monotonous and often abandons his designated area to explore or cause mischief. This restlessness stems from admiration for immune cells, whose perceived strength and life-saving roles he longs to emulate. His dissatisfaction manifests as a persistent yearning for purposeful work.

His development pivots on an unforeseen responsibility: shielding lactic acid bacteria within the intestine. When these beneficial microbes face eradication by immune cells during inflammation, he intervenes despite lacking combat abilities. Driven by newfound determination to protect something vital, he advocates for the bacteria's role in gut health—transforming his earlier apathy into active guardianship. Though physically unequipped for conflict, his persistence underscores a shift from passive discontent to resolute advocacy.

After this event, he resumes replication duties with altered perspective. While performing the same function, he demonstrates renewed commitment, recognizing that ordinary cells uphold bodily homeostasis through steadfastness in their roles.

This character appears exclusively in the main *Cells at Work!!* anime series.
