TV-Series
Description
Zeke Yeager, known as the Beast Titan, acts as War Chief of Marley's Warrior Unit and serves as the primary antagonist through much of the series. He is the firstborn son of Grisha Yeager and Dina Fritz, making him the older half-brother of Eren Yeager through their shared father and a member of the Eldian royal bloodline via his mother. This royal lineage grants him unique Titan Shifter abilities, including the power to transform Eldians into Pure Titans and exert control over them using his spinal fluid.

Physically, Zeke possesses a tall, broad, and well-toned physique with gray eyes, shaggy platinum blond hair, and facial hair, frequently seen wearing circular glasses. His human appearance shifts after returning to Marley, adopting a cleaner look with shorter hair and a trimmed beard. Within the Paths dimension, his hair becomes overgrown, resembling his father and brother. His Beast Titan form stands at 17 meters, featuring an ape-like appearance draped in dark fur, elongated arms with dexterous thumbs, and a disproportionately large torso. The Titan possesses pointed ears, sharp teeth, and eyes with dark sclera that obscure its gaze.

Zeke's personality is marked by high intelligence, strategic thinking, and a detached, callous demeanor. He commands subordinates and Titans with ruthless efficiency, enforcing obedience through brute force—crushing disobedient Titans or physically disciplining Reiner Braun. Beyond this militaristic exterior, he displays a warmer, charismatic side in non-combat settings, often joking with fellow Warriors. His core motivation stems from a nihilistic worldview: believing Eldians should never have been born to spare them suffering, he devises the Euthanasia Plan. This plan requires using the Founding Titan's power to sterilize all Subjects of Ymir, ensuring their extinction within a century.

His backstory reveals a traumatic childhood in Marley's Liberio internment zone. Enrolled in the Warrior Program by Grisha—intending him to spy for the Eldian Restorationists—Zeke struggled with training and faced neglect from his radicalized parents. His sole emotional support came from Tom Ksaver, the previous Beast Titan inheritor, who mentored him through games of catch. Overhearing Marley's imminent crackdown on Restorationists, Zeke pleaded with his parents to abandon their cause. Upon their refusal, he betrayed them to Marleyan authorities to save himself, resulting in their exile to Paradis Island. This act solidified his belief in the inherent tragedy of Eldian existence.

During the war against Paradis, Zeke orchestrates attacks including transforming Ragako Village residents into Titans and commanding Reiner and Bertholdt. A near-death encounter with Levi Ackerman—who severs his limbs—leaves him terrified of facing Ackermans. After escaping with Ymir Fritz's intervention in the Paths, he defects from Marley and allies with Eren. Though initially presenting a united front to enact his Euthanasia Plan, their true goals clash: Eren seeks the Rumbling's global destruction, while Zeke aims for sterilization. Revisiting memories of Ksaver in the Paths challenges Zeke's nihilism, leading him to realize life holds value beyond suffering. This epiphany prompts him to aid Levi in stopping Eren by sacrificing himself, severing the royal-blood connection powering the Rumbling.

Zeke's character arc concludes with his death at Levi's hands during the battle to halt the Rumbling, fulfilling his role as both antagonist and a figure consumed by the legacy of his bloodline.
