Description
Armin Arlelt is a graduate of the 104th Cadet Corps and the childhood friend of Eren Jaeger and Mikasa Ackermann. He serves as the 15th Commander of the Scout Regiment and inherits the power of the Colossal Titan.

Originally from the Shiganshina District of Wall Maria, Armin was often bullied as a child for his curiosity about the world beyond the walls, relying on Eren and Mikasa for protection. His grandfather’s illegal book, which described wonders like oceans and deserts, ignited his fascination and inspired a shared dream with his friends to explore the outside world. His parents were killed trying to leave the walls, and his grandfather later died during the mission to reclaim Wall Maria.

Armin stands relatively short with a slight build, though military training added some muscle. He has blond bob-cut hair, large blue eyes, brown eyebrows, and a slightly upturned nose. As a Scout, he wears the regiment’s standard uniform. His Colossal Titan form is skinless, enormously tall, and features an exposed rib cage, deep-set eyes, and a visible windpipe. A previous Pure Titan form he briefly possessed had blond shoulder-length hair and a thin physique.

Intellectually gifted and a strategic genius, Armin initially struggled with low self-esteem due to his physical limitations, often feeling like a burden and striving to prove his value. He is deeply loyal, courageous, and self-sacrificing, consistently putting his friends and comrades above himself. Level-headed and analytical, he frequently serves as the voice of reason. Though empathetic and kind-hearted, Armin believes that harsh realities sometimes demand morally difficult choices, and he does not adhere to rigid concepts of good and evil. Over time, he grew more confident and stepped into leadership with resolve.

He enlisted in the 104th Cadet Corps alongside Eren and Mikasa, graduating outside the top ten due to poor physical scores but excelling in theory and strategy. Joining the Scout Regiment, his intelligence proved vital—he uncovered the true identities of the Female Titan (Annie Leonhart), the Armored Titan (Reiner Braun), and the Colossal Titan (Bertholdt Hoover). During the battle for Trost District, Eren saved him from a Titan attack.

A turning point came in the battle of Shiganshina District, where Armin allowed himself to be severely burned by the Colossal Titan’s steam to create an opening for Eren. Near death, he was chosen by Levi to receive the Titan serum over Commander Erwin Smith, inheriting the Colossal Titan from Bertholdt. The decision sparked controversy, and Armin carried guilt but resolved to honor Levi’s choice.

As the Colossal Titan, Armin took part in the raid on Liberio, destroying Marley’s port and fleet. After Commander Hange Zoë’s death, he was appointed the 15th Commander of the Scout Regiment. In this role, he helped lead the alliance against Eren’s Rumbling, which annihilated eighty percent of humanity. He confronted Eren in a final battle and later took responsibility for his death to protect Mikasa and advance peace talks. In the aftermath, Armin became an ambassador, working to bridge understanding between Eldia and the surviving world—a effort that secured only a temporary peace before conflict eventually resumed.

His closest relationships are with Eren Jaeger and Mikasa Ackermann, bound by their shared dream of seeing the ocean. He also formed a romantic attachment with Annie Leonhart, visiting her during her crystallization and later fighting alongside her. He shares strong camaraderie with former cadets like Jean Kirschtein, Connie Springer, and Reiner Braun.

Armin evolves from a physically weak and insecure boy into a confident, respected commander. His journey is defined by overcoming self-doubt, harnessing his intellect, and bearing the weight of sacrifice and command. He continually wrestles with the moral costs of war and the destruction wrought by his Titan power, yet remains steadfast in his pursuit of peace and understanding, shaping history through his actions and choices.
