Description
Sieg Jaeger, also known as Zeke Jaeger or Zeke Yeager, is the son of Grisha Jaeger and Dina Fritz. This lineage makes him the elder half-brother of Eren Jaeger and a royal-blood descendant through his mother. Born in 825 within Liberio’s Eldian internment zone in Marley, his parents enlisted him in Marley’s Warrior Program at age seven to infiltrate the military as a spy. Neglected by parents consumed by their Eldian Restorationist cause and influenced by his grandfather’s accounts of Eldian atrocities, Zeke grew resentful of their ideology. Guided by mentor Tom Xaver, the prior Beast Titan holder, he betrayed his parents to Marleyan authorities. Their subsequent exile to Paradis Island and transformation into Pure Titans solidified his nihilistic perspective.

Physically, Zeke stands tall and muscular with blond hair and blue-gray eyes, typically wearing Xaver’s circular glasses. On Paradis Island around 850, he displayed medium-length shaggy hair and a beard. Upon returning to Marley, he adopted shorter hair and a trimmed beard. In the Paths dimension, his hair and beard grew longer and greyer. His Beast Titan form reaches 17 meters with an ape-like physique: dark or reddish fur covers most of its body, excluding the face, hands, feet, and torso. It features disproportionately long arms optimized for projectile throwing, pointed ears, sharp teeth, and red eyes set against dark sclera.

Zeke’s personality blends calculation and callousness. He commands with cold efficiency, punishing disobedience ruthlessly—crushing a defiant Titan and beating Reiner Braun for prioritizing Annie Leonhart’s rescue over their mission. Despite strategic brilliance and curiosity, he exhibits profound indifference to suffering, exemplified by abandoning Mike Zacharias to be devoured by Titans. He masks his intentions behind an affable, humble facade around Marleyan superiors and fellow Warriors, though Pieck observed his secretive nature. Childhood trauma fuels his nihilism, convincing him Eldians should never have been born to avoid pain. This philosophy drives his plan to wield the Founding Titan’s power to sterilize all Subjects of Ymir, ensuring extinction within a century.

As War Chief of Marley’s Warriors, Zeke’s objective was retrieving the Founding Titan from Paradis. Inheriting the Beast Titan from Xaver granted him the ability to transform spinal-fluid-injected Eldians into Pure Titans via his screams, commanding them with royal-blood-enhanced authority. Key actions include his debut during the Clash of the Titans arc, massacring Survey Corps members at Utgarde Castle by hurling stones. He later transformed Ragako Village residents into Titans to test Paradis’s defenses. In the Return to Shiganshina arc, he collaborated with the Cart Titan to ambush the Scouts, nearly annihilating them. Levi Ackermann outmaneuvered and mutilated him, severing his limbs before Pieck’s rescue. His first encounter with Eren during this retreat revealed their resemblance and Zeke’s initial belief that Eren was another victim of Grisha’s influence.

Zeke’s relationship with Eren dictated his final acts. Seeking to "save" Eren from Grisha’s ideology, he defected from Marley and orchestrated a Paradis coup. Entering the Paths with Eren, he discovered Eren manipulated Grisha into slaughtering the Reiss family. Disgusted, Zeke abandoned their alliance. His euthanasia plan required physical contact with Eren to activate the Founding Titan, but Eren exploited this connection to trigger the Rumbling. In the finale, Zeke reappeared within the Founding Titan, permitting Levi to kill him. This severed the royal blood connection, halting the Rumbling. His final moments brought a realization about life’s value, sparked by a memory of playing catch with Xaver.
